This has always been something people want to do .It is probably one of the most asked questions on the internet. Either someone wants to find out who someone is or they are trying to break into someones computer.

Here are a few way to get someone's ip address: 1) Convince them to post a message into a forum that displays an ip address for every post. 2) Download AIM Spy. Learn how it works and use it. 3) Convice the user to talk to you on AIM or MSN messenger. Make a direct connection with them to send a file. While the connection is established. Go to Start > Run > type "CMD". At the command screen type "netstat" or "netstat -n" then figure out which ip address is theirs.
After getting someones ip address you can try to scan it for open ports. This will tell you if they are vunerable to attack or give you an idea of what kinds of services are running on their computer / network. I use Angry IP Scanner.
