Last Updated: 2/15/10

This page will inform you of your options if you would like to use outlook on a network to share contacts, emails, and appointments.

Product: Exchange Server
Price:$699-$3,999 + $67 x (each user or computer) + cost of OS
Details: This is the best solution for using outlook over a network. It is also the most expensive. This centralizes all company info, contacts, emails, appointments, etc.. on a server that allows clients to logon directly through outlook on their computer. Runs just like a local outlook account but is always up-to-date with company contacts. Must have a seperate comptuer for the server.

Product: SUSE Linux OpenExchange

Details: An alternative to Microsoft Exchange ®. OpenExchange works with Outlook and has a web interface that works with most browsers. It has a web interface that is so good you may not need any other program except a browser to login with.

Product: XC Connect

Price: $240-$7500
Details: An alternative to Microsoft Exchange ® , XC Connect is a robust communication solution that integrates with Microsoft Outlook ® and Ximian Evolution ® for small to large size businesses. XC Connect makes group collaboration easier than ever before. Must have a seperate comptuer for the server.

Product: Public Outlook
Price: $115-$4800
Details: This is also a good solution for using outlook over a network and it is much cheaper. Read more here. I don't think a seperate computer for the server is needed.
